Freeway x Botong for Holiday 2012

DSC_5286
I have been very amazed how the clothing brand, Freeway collaborates fashion with arts. More than just releasing collections every now and then, Freeway also shows that a local brand can express nationalism by integrating the works of our local national artists to interesting wardrobe pieces that can make any person feel stylish and proud at the same time. For their 2012 holiday collection, Freeway honored our greatest muralist of all time -- Carlos Botong Francisco.

Held last Thursday, Oct 18 at The Row Glorietta 1, Freeway released its 25-piece National Artist Collectors' Series in celebration of Carlos "Botong" Francisco's 100th year anniversary. I, along with blogger Arnie Vilanueva arroived at the venue together. I've always loved atending freeeway events cause more than seeing new collectosns unfold, I also get the chance to mingle with fellow fashion bloggers (in person). In this event, I was able to catch up with bloggers like Kat Valdez, Kelly Medina, Ava Te, Keigh Jalbuena, Jen Maslang, Ana Gonzales, Aisa Ipac and Paul Chuapoco during the cocktails held prior to the event. Moreover, Freeway was also generous enough to lend us event photos. Thanks so much, Freeway for letting me use your photos above. DSCN0382

But of course, I still used my camera while I was at the event. I had tons of photos with a lot of beautifulo friends there, such as Angel Rodriguez, Christine Liwag (so nice to meet you personally), Krissy Cruz, Nika Beniece, Helen Blas, Ruth dela Cruz, Ria Lumandog, Krystle Pingol and Sai Montes. Of course I will always have a fan girl mode and take photos with favorite bloggers, Kookie Buhain and Tracy Ayson.DSC_3388
But of course, the highlight of the night was when the models walked the runway wearing FreewayxBotong outfits. I was impressed with each and every outfit they presented. It was feminine and sophisticated. I couldn't help but get excited and get one (agad agad) :) And do you see the accesories they are wearing? Coo how the people behind freeway was able to come up with necklaces and bags with Botong Franciusco's murals intact. I just love how they presented it.

More than a fashion show, the event also talked about Carlos "Botong" Francisco's Life anf Art by interviewing Carlos "Totong" Francisco II, Ino Manalo and Ms. Tingting Cojuangco. Ms Cherie Gil (who looked stunning that night) hosted who gave the night a lot more glamour.

As always, bloggers will be bloggers as they took a photo with Ms. Tingting Cojuangco. Too bad I was not able to take one with her.

All in all it was a wonderful event. Many thanks to Ms Dian dela Cruz and Freeway for the invite. Moreover, extending my appreciation by letting me use your photos.

Have a fruitful long weekend guys! :)
Much Love,
The Bargain Doll

Fashion and art does mix and this event was star studded and well supported. It's also great to honor an artist in this event.
