La Union Escape

Life have been very stressful lately and I have been wanting an escape. Escape from all the worries, the conflicts, the stress both from my personal and professional life. Thing have been tough and the long weekend came just when I needed it the most. I wanted to go someplace where I could just lounge around, chill and do nothing. I wanted to just relax and hear the sound of the waves, despite the non stop rain we have been experiencing last week. Gratefully, the husband made it happen and managed to book us a room in China Sea Beach Resort in Bauang, La Union.

We left Quezon City at around 10 in the morning and despite all our prayers, the sun did not shine bright that weekend. We are very lucky that Jhai, our family friend came and joined us for the trip. It was the first time that we traveled with another person and seriously, having someone to help us with Leon was a great relief. We had our lunch and stopover at Matutina's at Tarlac, Pangasinan. I was not able to take photos of the food, but we enjoyed the buffet at P350 / head where we had delicious, delicious Filipino dishes.

Finally! At around 5:30 PM, after more than 7 hours of driving (including the stopover and lunch), we finally arrived in this simple, relaxing, quaint China Sea Beach Resort. The name sound funny at first but I was personally surprised to see how beautiful the resort was. We booked this via Agoda and we chose this because this was the cheapest, most decent resort that could accomodate our family. For almost Php 4,200+ for 2 nights with complimentary breakfast, we were surprised that we got more than what we paid for.

The resort was small, but it met all my expectations.  I was surprised that we have a mini villa with a room spacious enough for 3 adults and 1 kid. Moreover, it was fronting the beach, it has a relaxing ambiance and it has a swimming pool so Leon could enjoy and swim. Upon arrival Paolo and I lounged around in the resort's small bar area, ate and relaxed while listening to the sound of the waves. Leon and Jai on the other hand swam in the heated pool where Leon enjoyed so much (despite of the rain). We did the same thing the next couple of mornings before we headed to our side trips to Baguio and Pangasinan.

I honestly had a relaxing time in this resort. The experience was very simple and low maintenance. More importantly, Leon also enjoyed his time in the resort, Seeing him happy and fulfilled with swimming in the pool, or eating in the bar or listening and watching the waves was more than satisfying, It also became a bonding time for us as a family for we don't get to talk or spend quality time with each other because of the demands in our career. This vacation helped soothe our stress and strengthen our bond as couple, and as a family.

Shall be posting about our quick tour to Baguio and Manaog soon!
