Ukay Shopping 101

Hi guys! You all know how much I love Thrift shopping. 70% of my outfits are always ukay (cause you know I'm so kuripot) unless I find a very lovely dress from a retail brand (which I did at Ensembles and Forever 21 a couple of days ago) that I cannot resist. Since I'm going to Korea on thursday (as a company incentive trip) I had to shop for winter clothes as we were advised that the weather will range from 0 to 10 deg on that country. I already bought a couple (coat from surplus shop and leather skirt at Forever 21) I am still not satisfied with my clothes. So, I went to my favorite Ukay-ukay here at Roosevelt / Congressional to shop for my winter attire.

Which, I took the opportunity to share with you how I ukay ukay my clothes.

Before you find or decide to ukay, set first your goal. Why do you need to shop? What kinds of clothes you need to find? In my case, I had to find winter outfits.

I cannot believe that I got everything for only P530! I remember buying one coat for 1k at retail brands which made me regret it after buying so many items half its cost. However; I enjoyed my ukay shopping cause it took me less than an hour to find l the things I need because I went there with a goal and a specified budget on mind.

Hope you learned from this post. Shall post ukay stuff soon!

Much Love,
The Bargain Doll

My mommy friends at school are ukay addicts, and just recently I discovered why! I went to the ukay with them the other day and I managed to find a UNIQLO tee and an Esprit shirt with their tag prices still intact! :)

Now this is the foremost thing I miss in the Philippines. Ukay fashion is so fabulous yet so inexpensive!! But like you, i always go for the 3 for 100 items and maybe some leather or carry all bags too.

I have never tried shopping in an ukay2 store. But I'm also "kuripot" so I would like to visit one of these stores someday.
I love ukay-ing! Some pieces don't look like ukay at all! Plus the price is really good :)

I really want to try ukay shopping. I do buy at surplus shops but never tried ukay. I actually visit a few before near my old office and I was overwhelmed though I really looked on the racks and didn't find what I wanted. Good thing I read this post at least now I know the 'how-to' when it comes to ukay. I will definitely give it a try and visit a few more! :)
