Beauty Review: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in AMSTERDAM

I have been wanting to purchase this much talked about NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams but I haven't had the time to order online. Now that NYX is now in Manila (for those who don't know, they have a stall in SM City North Edsa Annex and SM Aura), I was finally able to get one one for myself.

You know how much I love doing that effortless look at work, so I'm fond of just wearing red (or dark pink) lippies + powder on my face. Amsterdam is a pure red shade that is just perfect for every girl.

Why I love and would repurchase this item:

* the color is perfect! If there's a shift dress, this one's a shift lippie cause you can wear it on day at work (witn minimal eye make-up) and at night, during the girls night out.

* It has a sweet, candy scent (that I really love about lip products!)

* highly pigmented

* dries upon application

* long-lasting

However I noticed that

* Since I'm not used to using doe applicators, I find SMLC a bit hard to apply. I tend to use my fingers to evenly spread the color to my lips

I have this love and hate relationship with matte lipsticks. First I love matte lipsticks because they last longer yet they tend to crack my lips. I usually end up putting lip balms / glosses to avoid this, however that is NOT the case for NYX SMLC. I enjoyed its shade throughout the day without the dry lips!

 My complete look. I also used NYX Concealer, NYX Autoeyebrow Pencil (which I will review soon), Cover Girl Foundation and G-Lish Berry Blush Cheek Tint. 

With NYX, you can definitely get that professional look for less! Will I purchase more NYX products? I will for sure!
